Although Windows 11 doesn’t offer a traditional “Guest” account, we’ll show you how to create a password-free local account that serves the same purpose.

How to Create a Guest Account on Windows 11 Home
Method 1: Through Settings
- Open Settings: Click on the Start button and select Settings (or use the shortcut Windows + I).
- Navigate to Accounts: Go to Accounts and choose Family & Other Users.
- Add an Account: Under the “Other Users” section, click Add Account.
- Create the Guest Account:
- Select “I don’t have this person’s sign-in information”.
- Choose “Add a user without a Microsoft account“.
- Enter a name for the guest account (it can’t be “Guest,” but any other name will work).
- Leave the password fields empty.
- Done!: The guest account will now appear alongside other accounts and won’t require a password for sign-in.
Method 2: Through Command Line
- Open Command Prompt: Search for “Command Prompt” in the Start Menu, right-click, and run it as an administrator.
- Enter the Command:
- Type the following command and hit Enter:
net user Guest1 /add /active:yes
- Replace “Guest1” with any other name (except “Guest”).
- Success!: The account will be listed under Settings > Accounts > Family & Other Users > Other Users.
Remember that these guest accounts won’t have the same limitations as the old-style guest accounts (pre-Windows 10). Guests can install software and adjust settings, but their actions won’t affect your profile.
